MoU between EASA and Indonesia's Directorate General of Civil Aviation

Indonesia and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on aviation safety.

The MoU was signed by the Director General of Civil Aviation, Indonesia, Polana B. Pramesti, and the Executive Director of EASA, Patrick Ky, on the sidelines of the 41st International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Assembly in Montreal, Canada.

The MoU is aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two organizations in the field of aviation safety. It covers areas such as the exchange of information, best practices, and expertise; the development of joint safety initiatives; and the mutual recognition of safety certifications.

"This MoU is a significant step forward in our cooperation with Indonesia," said Ky. "It will allow us to work together more closely to improve aviation safety in both our regions." Pramesti said that the MoU would help Indonesia to improve its aviation safety standards and practices. "We are committed to working with EASA to make Indonesian aviation safer," he said.

"The MoU between EASA and Indonesia is a welcome development," said the Secretary General of ICAO, Juan Carlos Salazar. "It will help to strengthen aviation safety in both regions and contribute to the safe and sustainable development of the global aviation industry."
